'New Blood' needed in language-based area studies
An ESRC report, 'A demographic review of the UK social sciences' authored by Dr David Mills, University of Birmingham has identified language-based area studies as a 'priority area' that needs to bring in 'new blood' to ensure its future health. The report can be downloaded from the ESRC website

BOLOGNA PROCESS - Seminar

This seminar will report on the latest developments in the Bologna Process relating to the 'framework of qualifications' and will explore some of the key issues relating to the implementation in the UK and across Europe. The event will have a particular focus on the Humanities and will include reports on the latest discussion on this issue at European level.
It will be of interest to senior managers, international officers, curriculum developers and subject practitioners in the Humanities. The seminar will be free of charge and registration should be made via the online form on the Subject Centre website at
