Sharing good practice in teaching Area Studies: enhancing the student experience

When examined from the point of view of the student, it is apparent that area studies courses offer many opportunities and challenges for both students and their teachers. In this workshop, five teachers of area studies explore ways in which they have developed courses and pedagogies that enhance the experiences of their students in acquiring knowledge and developing appropriate skills in their chosen area study.

European Research Students' Conference

This one-day conference is aimed at research students of all levels who are engaged in the field of EU-related studies. This event offers an ideal introduction to the UACES community as well as an opportunity to meet fellow academics & researchers who are engaged in related fields of European research.
The conference is open for any student to attend, whether or not they are a member of UACES.
Lord Kerr of Kinlochard, (Honorary President of UACES & Imperial College London) will give the Conference Keynote Speech on ‘what academics can learn from practitioners and vice versa’.
Philip Hall, (Head of the European Secretariat in the UK Cabinet Office) will also speak on the UK Presidency of the European Council.
A Roundtable on ‘how to get your work published’ will also bring together a number of key figures in the field of publishing.
