Subject Centre LLAS/CILT Conference Crossing frontiers: languages and the international dimension
6th-7th July 2006
University of Cardiff
This two-day conference is jointly organised by the Subject Centre for Languages, Linguistics and Area Studies and CILT, the National Centre for Languages, in partnership with key subject associations in languages and related studies in higher education: UCML, SCHML, AULC and ALL.
The conference will be of interest to all those concerned with the learning and teaching of languages in higher education both in the UK and internationally. It will also be of relevance to those involved in other sectors which border on higher education such as secondary schools, FE and adult education.

British Academy Visiting Fellowships
The Academy's new Visiting Fellowship scheme, launched in 2005, enables early-career scholars from overseas to apply directly to the Academy, in conjunction with their UK hosts, for research visits to the UK of between two and four months. The main purpose of the visit should be to enable the visitor to pursue research.
